Here’s what most lightweight scooters get wrong. They strip out the strength to hit a low weight figure, and you end up with something that feels flimsy the moment you actually use it. The Genie Ultralight took a different approach. Magnesium alloy and carbon fibre. Materials borrowed from aerospace and high-performance engineering. The result is a scooter that weighs just 14kg complete with battery, or 12kg without, and still holds a user weight of up to 19 stone.
That’s the thing about this machine. Nothing has been sacrificed to get it this light.
It folds. It fits in a car boot, an overhead locker, a coach rack. It’s cleared for air travel, coach travel, and cruise ships, which makes it one of the most genuinely portable pavement scooters on the market. If your life doesn’t stop at the front door, this scooter is built for that reality.
On the ground, it handles exactly as it should. A 120w motor gives you a smooth, confident 4mph. The 5 inch wheels front and rear keep it nimble on pavements. Ground clearance sits at 13cm, and the climbing angle handles up to 8 degrees, so a dropped kerb or gentle slope is no obstacle. The battery range runs to 9 miles, which is more than enough for a full day of errands, appointments, or just getting out and moving.
The dimensions tell a practical story too. At 94cm long, 43cm wide, and 83cm tall, it’s compact enough to move through a shop or a busy street without a second thought. Fold it down and the depth drops to 50cm. The seat is 36cm wide and 36cm deep. It fits, and it’s comfortable.
